Mixed Imported Reds
Protos Roble Ribera Duero 2005
From one of the notorious wine regions of Spain (Ribera del Duero), comes this perfectly aged Tempranillo. This museum stock typically retails for $34.99 but with this much age, you’d be lucky to find a bottle anywhere else going for less – especially when you’ve got 5 other bangers for under $80! In 1929 during the world exhibition in Barcelona, Protos registered 2 wines for the wine competition, in which they won Gold and Great Gold, the first foot forward to becoming one of Spain’s great vintners.
Pescaja ‘Tuke’ Langhe Nebbiolo
Hailing from the beautiful landscape of Piedmont, Italy amongst the beautiful Alps – you will find the Pescaja vineyard. This Nebbiolo with perfect age on the nose is a lovely, star anise, rich cherry, horseradish, white pepper, jalapeno, and dense red fruit. The mouth on this full-bodied wine is richly layered, dense, dark cherry, plum, with candied currants, intense acidity, with a deep and dense tannin mouthfeel, earth, loam, and smoke. The finish is long, dense, dark, with soy sauce, mushroom, wet earth, black and red fruit, leather, coffee, and smoke galore.
Faustino V
“Tradition is not inherited, tradition is conquered” a statement that defines Bodegas Faustino’s philosophy, wines and history. This smooth Tempranillo is procured with over 150 years of passion and experience. From the glorious Rioja region, the Faustino VII expresses strong strawberry scent while boasting bold, intense tannins. Can accompany red meats perfectly as certainly not limited to being enjoyed on its own!
Botter Chianti
A timeless classic from our good friends in Italy, this Chianti from Botter is great for your Sunday night pizzas or home-made pasta dishes with the family. Expressive fruity wine which has a nice spicy shade, harmonic structure with a very subtle grip.
Vina Marro Rioja Reserva 2007
Cherry blossoms in this great bottle from Rioja. Balanced yet solid tannins are overwhelmed by this velvet red. Aragonez is a potent vine turning out full bodied reds with strong personality. You add sophistication and complexity, and you get it. This wine displays a mixture of cherries and dried flowers, with an underlay of richer chocolate flavors. No cellaring required; this vino is ready to drink right away!
Alcanta Tinto
From the Mediterranean Spanish town, Alicante, comes this lovely classic Spanish red blend. A combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Monastrell makes for a slightly tannic, but fruity, easy to drink red for all occasions. An absolute must for those heartly home cooked meals in winter!
