Samuels Gorge
The Tempranillo’s charm lies in its structure; the fine-grained, mature tannins with zipping lines of acidity. A bouquet of tart cherries and native wilderness give way to animal and peppery tobacco leaf.
Its homeland is magnificently harsh with gnarled and bent olive trees, hard landscapes and moreish meats. Closer to home, here at Samuel’s Gorge, our Tempranillo is grown atop the estate’s rugged ridge on shattered shale with sandstone layered origins. The St Vincent Gulf breeze imparts oceanic elements with deep savoury aspects of kelp and fermented soy. The wild aromas of Onkaparinga Gorge flow throughout, planting you back with us here on the hill. The vines are at home in our sundrenched landscape.
