Konpira Maru Classic Pet Nat
This latest offering from Alastair and Sam at Konpira Maru is fantastic and a freight-train of fun to drink.
Three varieties from the Chalmers vineyard in Heathcote combine forces here in a classic (*ahem) blend of 75% Sagrantino, 20% Vermentino and 5% Dolcetto. There are only really two rules when you make Pet Nat: make it fizzy and make it delightful to drink. The boys have nailed it on both accounts.
It's not a profoundly complex wine but it will absolutely get you coming back for more.
